Journey Labuan - Tanjung Kubong Coal Mining

Here another interesting of journey to Labuan. The north end of the island stands 'The Chimney'. If any stucture symbolises Labuan as The Eifal Tower symbolises paris, or statue of liberty, New York, this has to be it.

Located at Tanjung Kubong, here an expensive network of underground tunnels and deep wells, legacy of coal mining in 18th century Labuan. For 64 years it is operatad by British companies. Series of accidents led to the closure of the mine in 1911.
